For Kristopher Jenkins, owner of SET THE STAGE® Boise Treasure Valley, this venture is more than just a business—it’s a homecoming and a renewal of purpose. A Boise native, Jenkins moved to Seattle in 2009 to pursue a Master of Choral Conducting at the University of Washington. “I wanted to immerse myself in new experiences, grow as an artist, and embrace the kind of opportunities only a major city could offer. Seattle was an artistic wonderland, filled with creative energy and innovation,” he reflects.
In 2014, Jenkins joined Su Development, a developer of urban mixed-use apartment towers in Bellevue, Washington. Tasked with bringing a new cultural and performing arts center to life, he developed Resonance Events, a thriving venue, built upon strategic partnerships with organizations like Classical KING FM and the Eastside Music Teachers Association. Under his leadership, the venue presented over 60 concerts annually and hosted more than 150 private and corporate events each year for major companies like Microsoft, T-Mobile, and Amazon.
“My time leading Resonance was a dream come true. We built something truly special—something that brought people together, created unforgettable moments, and elevated the arts in our community,” says Jenkins. “But over time, I realized that success without balance wasn’t sustainable. The long commutes, skyrocketing costs of living, diminishing quality of life, and the isolation brought on by the shutdowns made me rethink what I truly wanted: A place where I could build something meaningful while also embracing a lifestyle rooted in connection, community, and well-being.”
That reflection led him home to Boise—a city that continues to grow and evolve while maintaining its deep sense of community and quality of life. “Boise is thriving in ways that are truly exciting.
